Why Is My Skin So Oily? (Men’s Version)
And how to combat it...
There are several reasons why your face looks oily. One of them, obviously, is because it is oily. Other causes include sweat, the surrounding climate, humidity, touching your skin after eating a ham croissant sandwich, the generic lotion that you’re using, etc. But, for this article, we’re going to cover why your skin is, in fact, oily.
The oily skin condition is not out of the ordinary for men. The oil is called sebum, a substance produced by the sebaceous glands which primary function is to lubricate your skin and hair. But sometimes, there is an overproduction of sebum, which results in your excessively oily skin.
“Why does my skin overproduce sebum,” you may be asking yourself. Well, there could be several factors for it, including your hormones, bacteria, medications you’re taking, and/or it could be heredity [Source: WebMD].
Your entire face can be oily, or it can be excessive along what’s called the “t-zone” – the zone running across the forehead, down the nose, and chin.
How can I combat my oily skin?
Face washes, and medication can help fight oily skin. Although, sometimes the sebaceous glands are so active that your face becomes excessively oily soon after you towel off.
If you’re one of many men with excessively oily skin, it can be super frustrating to keep it from becoming the prominent feature of your face.
To fight oily skin throughout the day without needing a prescription from a dermatologist, you can use a mattifier. One such mattifier is a mattifying lotion.
That’s where we come in.
We’ve worked with a licensed dermatologist to formulate a quality mattifying lotion specifically for men – d*shine’s Mattifying Moisturizer w/ Oil Contol. It not only absorbs and controls oil production, but it moisturizes and strengthens your skin as well. It’s the only lotion you’ll need to look and feel clean throughout the day.
Women have an arsenal of makeup to control their skin’s shine. We understand you don’t want to go down that road of carrying around an artillery of primers, powders, foundation, brushes, etc. We don’t want to spend an additional thirty minutes getting ready. Nor do we want to need to “touch up” in the bathroom or the car.
As men, all we need is a simple solution. That solution is d*shine. There’s no makeup here, just the d*.
All you need to do is rub it on and done!
